It's strange how songs like this just seem to disappear without a trace. It was a huge hit, great track yet I've never heard it on the radio since 1982...despite the so called 80s 'revival', its always the same 80s songs that get airplay and usually they're the rubbish ones. Another gem from that time that you rarely hear is 'Walking in the Sunshine' by Bad Manners

A great one-hit-wonder from 1982. I had it on some crappy compilation called "Action Trax", which came with a shitty little skul & crossbones sticker saying "Home taping is illegal - and it's killing music!" Bollocks! A bad compilation album full of "fillers", but this was not one of them A great track from The Mobiles, and again, brings back so many happy memories of a great time in my life.

Another classic example of the same phenomenon: "For America" by Red Box. Seemed to be played once every hour on the radio for the last two months of 1986, then was never heard again.

The follow up single 'Amour Amour' is even better especially the 12" (which i've still got...she sounds so sexy during the fade out which lasts about 2 minutes!)

I had read that when the Mobiles performed on Top of the Pops, they had allegedly took unauthorised absence from their day jobs and were subsequently dismissed when their employers spotted them. Unfortunately for them, it may have paid off in the short term but they were unable to establish themselves for several years. Nevertheless, this was a great early 80's new wave classic song which made the UK top 10 in February 1982.
