| I highly recommend Cesar Millan to dog owners and, as mentioned earlier, to those contemplating having children or who already have children who need help. In a nation with increasing numbers of obese children, I was struck by the #1 need of dogs as stated by Cesar: EXERCISE. Perhaps, we might consider the same order of needs for our children: exercise, discipline, and affection in order to grow happy, healthy, productive human adults. |

| There is no such thing as a pack leader. It's a myth. It comes from bad research about wolves. In the wild the only wolves that breed are the parents. They may or may not be the "leaders." In the wild, wolves don't dominate each other like this, and dogs don't even form packs like wolves when they are allowed to roam. So all of this stuff is folk ethology and very out of date. |
