Please Read: Air making an emergency stop.
I'm third row back on the very right.
Might not look like much but we were there for about 5 - 10 minutes!
Notice that the ride makes it's usual stop at the start then it goes off an slams the breaks on. TRUST ME, this is not what normally happens! The reason it stops is because someone has their phone out to record the journey and they had to make an emergency stop when they saw it on the cameras.

Exact same thing happened at the same point to me last year. First it wouldnt lock when they were bring the seats backwards and swung back down twice, then we suddenly stopped exactly like this above the little path.

Whoever is standing under the coaster and recording this video is a complete idiot, and HE is the reason why the ride was Emergency-Stopped. Rides dont get E-Stopped because people have their cameras out. They only get E-Stopped when there is a safety issue, such as a retard that stands in the ride track under the coaster to record a video. I would know this considering that I have worked at Universal Studios in Attraction Operations, and have encountered moronic situations such as these before.

Thats actually a little path that he is standing on that goes under Air and is for the general public. He isnt actually standing anywhere he shouldnt be.

its at alton towers and there is a path under the ride for the public to stand on and watch the ride, so he is actually perfectly safe, and wouldnt have been the only standing there (:

no he isnt. where hes standing is a walkway open for anyone to walk on. the ride isnt very tall to begin with so thats why hes so close to it. and having a camera on a ride like this is a safety issue thats why it e stopped

Well thats an odd place to have a path for people to walk. =/ I was wrong about that, but nonetheless, the ride wouldnt be e-stopped for a camera. It would be ride-stopped. There's a difference. E-stop, the entire ride is shut down for an extended period of time. Ride-stop, the coaster is stopped only in a particular area of the ride, but can be restarted immediately. Im not sure, but it looks like this is the end of the ride? If thats the case, they most definitly wouldnt e-stop for a camera.

ohh ok. They probably just ride-stopped then. If it were an emergency stop, everyone would have been evacuated off the ride. Were they?
