A city that had become a haven for tens of thousands fleeing fighting, is now itself emptying in panic, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Reports are coming out of Goma of a city in turmoil, amid fears that Laurent Nkunda's rebel fighters are closing in. Dan Nolan reports.

| When the bill came, I decided not to tip the waiter because he was wearing an Obama T-shirt. I explained to him after i ate that I wasn't going to tip him but I was going to redistribute his tip to someone that I deemed more in need, specifically the homeless guy outside. He stood there in disbelief, then angrily stormed away.I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the waiter inside.Wonder how the waiter liked that "change". |

| Maybe we should not have high expectations from the Americans. In fact, I don't think that they can stomach another war, especially one in the heart of Africa where there are no scape routes. (In case another "black hawk down" incident occurs)Budget wise, I agree but even when America pays "less", it pays the most out of all the UN countries. (ratio wise, if you divide the country's contribution to the UN by it's population size, that generosity level might be different) |
