Unlike its human counterparts, an armed robot does not require food, clothing, training, motivation or a pension. The Pentagon is spending $US127 billion on a program to build heavily armed robots for the battlefield. Are we now setting a precedent of blatant disregard to Asimov's laws of robotics? There are already robots in Iraq, as you read this description -- this is no longer the realm of science fiction.

Cool. This is good. Perfect the system,mass produce and get them in the field pronto. ED 209 is a long time in coming. The problem with the state of most military robotics today is poor battery life and that one well placed bullet will make it an expensive paperweight. A war robot has to be like a small tank with redundancies and protective armor for their Vitals.

The vision of the future are in my opinion Terminators. Today robots are in design and skills not powerful enough to decide a war. But not so far the are!!

War will never be fought entirely by robots. If someone sent nothing but robots to wars, sooner or later the enemy will figure out it's weaknesses. Such as uploading a virus, Electromagnetic Pulse waves, disrupting its frequency, taking out its command center, overwhelming its systems with information. Then, in case someone did send out nothing but robots, and eventually have their entire robot army disabled., the nation that sent them would not go down without a fight, thus taking up arms.
